The 2016–17 season is Manchester United's 25th season in the Premier League, and their 42nd consecutive season in the top flight of English football. United will compete in the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup and UEFA Champions League. They will go into the Premier League season as four-time defending champions.

This season was notable as a 3–2 defeat at Chelsea in the league on October 23, 2016 saw their 126-match undefeated run in the league end.
