Simon Thorup Kjær (born March 26, 1989) is a Danish professional footballer who currently plays for Manchester United and the Danish national team as a centre back.

Kjær began his career in Denmark with Midtjylland before playing for Palermo, Wolfsburg, Roma (on loan), Lille and Fenerbahce before moving to Man United in the summer of 2016 for £15 million. Kjær joined United as a replacement for Ron Vlaar who had left for Barcelona the very same day. Kjær debuted for Denmark in 2009 and has since played over 50 times including featuring for them at the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012.
